Fan Guest of Honor - Karen Meschke

Karen Meschke has been involved in Texas Fandom since before the Austin NASFiC, which was her first SF convention. Karen is an avid reader and behind the scenes organizer. She recently extended her sphere into mystery fandom. She has chaired a WorldCon (LoneStarCon 2), co-chaired ArmadilloCon X with Fred Duarte, chaired ArmadilloCon XI, co-chaired a BoucherCon with the Cardinal Richelieu of Texas SF Fandom Willie Siros, chaired the late lamented ConMisterio, chaired SerCon VI, hosted the 2008 Nebula Awards Banquet and has worked on countless conventions across the country in a variety of capacities.

In addition to the above, Karen has served on the board of directors of FACT and ALAMO and as an officer in each organization. She has also served as an election judge for ASFA twice and was the initial organizer behind the FACT Reading Group in 1994.
